I would rather find myself in wilderness...
than lose myself in the city.

Wildlanders Mission Statement
A healthy environment is absolutely dependent upon a healthy moral government and a healthy moral people. That morality implies a mutually respectful multi-spirituality to provide a sense of shared humanity, camaraderie, place, being and belonging. A nations spirituality is the foundation upon which one nation acts together as one people. While Christianity is not a requirement, we have chosen a truly non-denominational, some might say 'alternative', anti-war, truly pro-environmental Christian theme for our website. In particular, we stand against unilateralism. Liberals, Independents, Greens, and Democrats will find a greater common ground in the true Christian message we convey to our readership. So too will unbiased science find a common ground here as will become apparent in our articles. We believe that it is upon such a Christian spirituality that this nation was built and upon which we gave the world its first National Park (Yellowstone) and sense of ecological preservation and recreational wilderness (US Wilderness Act of 1964). All things are related in the web of life. In this, we share our vision with Native American peoples. We believe a common spirituality, or at least a mutually respectful national multi-spirituality, is the silk upon which humanity finds its true place in the ecology of this earth. While we are Christian based, we do welcome others and support diversity in spirituality. We believe mutual respect for spiritual belief is the best way to present a credible view on behalf of Christianity - a sharing and comparing rather than a forcing of our views. Until we can understand and accept one another, we will never understand and accept our true place together in the diverse ecology of this earth. We do our best to establish and promote a sense of credability within both the spiritual and environmental issues we address. In that regard, we speak out against elitism, tradition, other irrational thought and profiteering regardless of their source. Please do not assume that we will be politically correct on issues of environmentalism. Please do not assume we will be politically correct on issues of Christianity. Wherever elitism, tradtion, profiteering or irrationality is found, you can bet we will address it - even if it means speaking against those whom we might otherwise call our brothers and sisters. We will be as critical of the environmental side as the anti-environmental side, the Christian as well as the non-Christian. Elitism, profiteering, tradition, and irrational thought are a real threat to a healthy people, a healthy nation, quality of life, and the ecology of this earth. Please note that we do not subscribe to any one denomination. In regards to our Christian readership, we welcome orthodox Christians (trinitarians such as Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, Luthern, etc), non-trinitarians (commonly called 'cults' by trinitarians and include LDS, Unitarians, Jahovah Witness, Christian Scientist, etc), New Age Christians, etc. We particularly hope to appeal to those young and old who are still uncertain of the many and divisive Christian denominations. We do our best to provide an unbiased platform from which to compare and contrast the differences in those denominations. Regardless of the readers denomination, please be forewarned, our articles will defer to the EXPLICIT passages in the Bible rather than today's political correctness or any particular denominations interpretation of the Biblical passages. We believe that the failure of Christianity today is directly related to the divisiveness of our principle Christian denominations in the US - a lack of comradarie in a common spirituality (or mutually respectful multi-spirituality). Our divisiveness if carrying over to the earth and that which sustains us. To a very large degree, we believe the Christian fault is found in the teaching of Christ - a house divided cannot stand. In any event, we value diversity and hope that here we can be one in wilderness and the sustainability of the natural ecology of this earth. Our mission is to provide a healthy, free online resource to explore and promote and advance our sense of spirituality, wilderness, wildland preservation, sustainability, and recreation. In that effort, we maintain a theme based on holistic and spiritual principles. Our primary goal is to promote mankind as an active spiritual member in the diverse ecology of this earth. Finally, we believe we are all sinners and come short of the glory of God. It that Light, I and others who might become involved in supporting this sight will make mistakes from time to time. Others will likely be offended in those mistakes. In that event, we will continuously pray to God to show us our faults, accept His greater teaching, and correct those mistakes wherever humanly possible. God be with you all.
